About Acne

Acne is a persistent problem for many, and understanding just what it is and how it forms is of interest to most. When suffering complications due to breakouts, the problem seems sometimes insurmountable and vexing. Perhaps understanding the truth behind the problem can help in taking proper care of skin and body.

To begin, understand that acne is not the result of the food that you eat. It is not the result of deviant behavior, or lack of will power. It is simply a naturally occurring reaction of the body to bacteria on the skin. If looked at closely, the skin will be seen as riddled with pores. Skin is an organ, in fact the largest organ of the body, and the pores are there to allow the skin to breathe, so to speak.

The pores excrete sweat and impurities when they are functioning properly. However, when the pore gets clogged with an irritant, the can become clogged. This clogging is what leas to acne breakout. Bacteria are the most common irritants involved. In order to be at its clearest, the skin needs to be functioning at optimal levels.

Still looking closely at the pores, it is common to see that they appear to be little black spots. They should not be black, but rather they should be the same color as the skin. The black spot, commonly know as a blackhead, is a small accumulation of dirt and/or bacteria. Left alone, it may turn into an active pimple.

The pimple, or whitehead, is the result of the blackhead clogging the pore, and the pore resisting this type of infection. When the body fights any infection it uses white blood cells to do the job. The pus and fluid inside of the pimple are simply dead white blood cells. They died in an attempt to fight the bacterial infection.

That is the basic essence of acne. Obviously, keeping the skin clean will help prevent outbreaks, as will any activity that will promote perspiration. In extreme cases, a physician can prescribe antibiotic medicines that will fight the problem bacteria. Knowing the true cause of acne may help to combat the problem with common sense approaches like Zenmed.
