ABOUT OUR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

John E. Carter, MD, is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He arrived in Kansas City in 1984 and did a surgical internship followed by an Emergency Medicine residency at Truman Medical Center. Dr. Carter is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He practiced emergency medicine for 16 years after completion of his residency in 1987.  He additionally practiced Occupational Medicine since 2004. He has always had an interest in the science and art of cosmetic and aesthetic skin care, and has studied this branch of medicine exclusively for the last two years. Dr. Carter is a member of the American Society of  Laser Medicine and Surgery, and continues his aesthetic training with various conferences and seminars.

Julianne M. Mazurek, MD, is a graduate of The State University of New York  at  Buffalo School of Medicine.  She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver General Hospital  in Denver, Colorado, and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine.  She has practiced emergency medicine in Kansas City since 1991. She has studied dermatology and aesthetic skin care extensively for the last several years. Dr. Mazurek has always had an interest in complementary medicine, and received training in Medical Acupuncture through UCLA. She is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.  Dr. Mazurek  is a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Donetta Taylor, aesthetician

Ms. Taylor is originally from the Kansas City metro area. She has been a licensed aesthetician for over 25 years, and has specialized exclusively in skin care for the last six years. She combines the gentle and soothing touch of an experienced aesthetician along  with additional training in medically-based skin rejuvenation to create a refreshing and relaxing experience.  Donetta has extensive experience with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and skin care consultation, and works closely with Dr. Carter and Dr. Mazurek to provide comprehensive skin care programs for patients and optimize your skin health and beauty!

Jennifer Pray, Aesthetician

 Jennifer Pray recently relocated from St. Joseph to the greater Kansas City area.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. After two years business experience, she chose to pursue her dream of becoming a licensed aesthetician.  She completed the aesthetics program at the Academy of Aesthetic Arts in Shawnee, KS.  Jennifer has a fascination with skin care, makeup, and anything within the beauty industry.  She is new to the profession, but brings with her a fresh and new outlook to skin care.  She is ready to provide relaxation while enhancing the skin’s natural beauty.
